Kristine Walton, MSN, BSN, RN

Kristine Walton, MSN, BSN, RN is a Metro Detroit native with over 18+ years of nursing experience. She earned her Bachelor’s in Science in Biology from Alma College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University and obtained her Master’s in Advanced Public Health in Nursing from Wayne State University in April of 2020.   Her professional career combines her love for education, caring for individuals and impacting change as she has taught as a clinical instructor for University of Detroit Mercy Nursing School and Dorsey’s LPN school, community health through the Maternal Infant Health Program and Women’s Health.  She was the RN Lead for Women’s Health Services at Henry Ford Health System.  Kristine’s expertise in public health has led to her involvement in multiple research projects and initiatives and she strives to provide equitable care to women.   Most recently she decided to embark upon the exciting and transformational path of Cannabis nursing to bridge both the racial gap and the gap between traditional and holistic methods to healing.  She earned her certification as a Certified Medical Cannabis consultant through Cansoom and is an affiliate for NurseGrown Organics and Balance Re’Leafed.  She is the co-founder of Canna Health & Grub LLC which continues her passion to guide women in their journey to health and wellness and helping pregnant, post-partum and breastfeeding moms in the safe use of medical cannabis.

Kristine is a member of Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA), Cannabis Nurse Network, Cannabis Nurses of Color (CNOC) and American Cannabis Nurses Association.  She has also been involved as the clinical coordinator for Centering Pregnancy, Health Equity Scholars Program Graduate, Facilitator for Unconscious Bias Training for Women’s Health Services Department, Maternal Infant Health Safe Sleep Action Committee, Ambulatory Nursing Leadership, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Henry Ford System Wide Breast Feeding Task Force, Baby Friendly Hospital Collaborative and “From Concept to Practice: Equity in Action Training.”

Kristine is passionate about combining her love for women’s health both physically and mentally with her knowledge of the healing power of the cannabis plant.
